Attendance spiked by 10% over the previous year at the 50th COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR (CRS), held in NASHVILLE on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 13-15. In addition to reporting the attendance jump, the seminar’s PR firm has announced the dates of next year’s CRS: FEBRUARY 19-21, 2020, also in NASHVILLE. Registration will open later this year.
In related news, CRS organizers COUNTRY RADIO BROADCASTERS, INC. (CRB) recognized the recipients of two scholarship endowments, which were awarded to two universities. As previously reported (NET NEWS 2/13), the two endowments -- valued at $50,000 in recognition of the CRS 50th anniversary event -- were given to DR. RICHARD ROBINSON of THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT MARTIN, and DR. BUTLER CAIN of the UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA. Each received a $25,000 endowment for the 2019-2020 school year. They were chosen by a CRB scholarship committee that was assembled to oversee the vetting of applications. Qualifying schools must have a TV/Film/Radio or Music Business program.
