"Boy Howdy! The Story of CREEM Magazine," will premiere at SXSW on MARCH 10th with a cast that includes KIRK HAMMETT, CHAD SMITH, ALICE COOPER, CAMERON CROWE, MICHAEL STIPE and GENE SIMMONS, among many others.
Directed by SCOTT CRAWFORD ("Salad Days: A Decade Of Punk In WASHINGTON, D.C), the film is a gritty look at DETROIT’s legendary CREEM MAGAZINE and the unruly band of misfits that made it possible.

The film explores the magazine’s humble beginnings in DETROIT’s CASS CORRIDOR in the late '60s to becoming a national publication. Later it takes viewers through the tragic and untimely death of its publisher BARRY KRAMER and its most famous alum LESTER BANGS.
The SXSW screenings take place MARCH 10th at ALAMO LAMAR, MARCH 14th at ALAMO RITZ and at HOTEL VEGAS in AUSTIN, TX, and MARCH 15th at ALAMO LAMAR . The doc will also show at the FREEP FILM FESTIVAL Opening Night, APRIL 10th at the FILLMORE DETROIT, and at the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME on MAY 29th at the FOSTER THEATRE in CLEVELAND.
