Condolences to family and friends of former DES MOINES radio and TV personality and IOWA's "MR. STATE FAIR," BILL RILEY, who died FRIDAY night from complications of leukemia in SCOTTSDALE, AZ at 86.
RILEY started at KRNT-A/DES MOINES in 1943 in the news department and began TV work when KRNT-TV (later KCCI-TV) signed on in 1955, staying with the stations until exiting in 1973 to join HAWKEYE CABLEVISION. He was known as the host of the IOWA STATE FAIR TALENT SEARCH from 1960 through 1996.
