The FCC database showed no new transactions FRIDAY morning (3/1).
Among the filings that did make it to the Commission, applying for STAs were iHEARTMEDIA's AMFM RADIO LICENSES, LLC, as debtor-in-possession (WINR-A/BINGHAMTON, NY, reduced power at night due to finding excessive power at two night mode power points) and MENTOR PARTNERS, INC. (WBRN-A/BIG RAPIDS, MI, reduced power nondirectionally due to problems with directional phasor).
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION filed for Silent STAs for WKWP/WILLIAMSPORT, PA due to transmission line and/or equipment damage and WKEL/WEBSTER, NY due to high VSWR.
And PENFOLD COMMUNICATIONS, INC. is selling Religion WKJA/BRUNSWICK-AKRON, OH to CHRISTIAN HEALTHCARE MINISTRIES, INC. for $600,000.
Also, not yet in the database but reported by the broker, ALPHA MEDIA has closed on the sale of its BILOXI-GULFPORT cluster -- Sports WANG-A-WTNI-A (1490/1640 THE CHAMP) and W278CE/BILOXI, Active Rock WCPR/WIGGINS-BILOXI, MS, Classic Hip-Hop WGBL (G96.7)/GULFPORT-BILOXI, MS, Adult Hits WQBB (BOB 105.9)/PASCAGOULA, MS, and Top 40 WXYK (107.1 THE MONKEY)/GULFPORT-BILOXI, MS -- to TELESOUTH COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $2.5 million and TELESOUTH has closed on the spinoff of WXYK to PORT BROADCASTING, LLC for $300,000. Subsequently, WXYK (107.1 THE MONKEY)/GULFPORT-BILOXI, MS moved its programming and call letters to 105.9 WQBB/PASCAGOULA. KALIL AND CO. served as broker for the deal.
