'The Voice' Contestant Janice Freeman Passes

"The Voice" singer JANICE FREEMAN died SATURDAY (3/2) from an apparent blood clot, TMZ reports. According to her family, FREEMAN was at her WEST COVINA home with husband, DION, when she started complaining she couldn't breathe. DION called 911 and performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived. She was pronounced dead around 5:30p at a hospital; apparently a blood clot was in her lungs. 

FREEMAN, who had previously battled lupus, cervical cancer and meningitis, made it to the top 11 on The Voice as part of Team MILEY in season 13. CYRUS kept in touch with her after the show; she helped FREEMAN out financially when she was searching for a place to live.

She is survived by her husband and daughter.
