A week after it introduced its PHONEBLADE VoIP telephone system for multi-host talk shows (NET NEWS 2/27), WHEATSTONE is also launching an AoIP appliance, named SwitchBlade, which removes the barriers to sharing studio operation and high-quality programming between facilities, sports venues, and other sites in separate locations. The 1RU appliance for the WheatNet-IP audio network, which will be unveiled at the upcoming NAB, includes audio codecs, SIP messaging and ACI control interface.
“SwitchBlade is the missing link for connecting WheatNet-IP facilityto WheatNet-IP facility from city to city or across the world," WHEATSTONE Sales Dir. JAY TYLER said. "Not only will it carry the audio, it carries the control, which means you can send and receive router commands, automation control, and even fader levels across the two locations. This is a real game changer because Switchblade finally makes it possible to monitor each point of the audio chain and switch audio locally from Network Operation Centers around the world.”
