Dave Robbins' Celebration Of Life ... A Wonderful Event

This past SATURDAY, (3/09) around 200 of the family and friends of legendary radio programmer and GM DAVE ROBBINS gathered in COLUMBUS, OH for a Celebration Of Life to honor DAVE who passed away suddenly last year, (NET NEWS 12/17/18).

A terrific 30-minute video was created with hundreds of photos of DAVE, his wife PATTI and their son DANIEL along with many friends all set to the BEATLES/Magical Mystery Tour.  The room was decorated with many of DAVE's albums and old radios and such -- it really was a special gathering.

To capture the event on video, "Radio's Best Friend" ART VUOLO was on hand.

There were tributes to DAVE from former WNCI personality JOHN CLINE who was the MC.  Others who spoke included WNCI Alumni ANDY CLARK, CHRIS DAVIS, and CHRIS SHEBEL formerly from crosstown 92X as well as BMG's TOM "GROVER" BIERY, HOLLYWOOD RECORDS' VICTOR LENTINI, ENTERCOM DENVER's MIKE PETERSON, former WNCI MD and noted radio programmers DAN BOWEN and NEAL SHARPE, and ALL ACCESS' JOEL DENVER.  Some civilian friends of DAVE spoke including MARK PECIKONIS and PETE LARSEN.

DENVER said, "I'd been friends with DAVE and PATTI for so many years and it was so much fun to see everyone remembering the good times about DAVE and the joy, laughter and creativity he brought to our lives and his radio stations. We all feel blessed to have known DAVE 'ROCK & ROLL' ROBBINS."

Throughout the gathering, tall tales were told and many shared funny moments from DAVE's life riffing on his hyper-speech pattern and many "DAVE sayings" like, "Hey what's happenning, what's the buzz, what's going on" plus examples of his kindness and compassion and super creativity ... DAVE was a literal positive force of nature for all that came in contact with him.
