True crime podcast SWORD AND SCALE has been dropped by its podcast network, WONDERY, and the show, hosted by MIKE BOUDET, is ending its free version and will for now issue only exclusive episodes for PATREON subscribers. BOUDET's spinoff shows SWORD AND SCALE REWIND, THIS IS WAR, and MONSTRO are also ending.
The termination comes after BOUDET, whose postings on social media, including comments perceived as sexist or offensive, had come under fire from other prominent podcasters, including "LORE" creator AARON MAHNKE and "UNDISCLOSED" host RABIA CHAUDRY, made an Instagram post on INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY with a meme reading "I don't understand dumb (c-words). Maybe I should take one apart to see how it works."
In a tweet after WONDERY dropped his show, BOUDET blamed MAHNKE and CHAUDRY for his show's demise. But MAHNKE, noting that BOUDET had become more aggressive in his posts, said in a tweet thread that BOUDET is choosing to cancel his show despite having "an enormous amount of support on PATREON" and added, "He can still make his podcast. I have no power (or desire) to stop that. I never did."
We have decided to part ways with Mike Boudet and Sword and Scale.

— Sword & Scale (@SwordAndScale) March 9, 2019Here’s what I’ll say about the Sword and Scale guy blaming me for his podcast going away. After this, I’m moving on.
First, I don’t listen to his show, so it’s never been about his show. He works hard. I’m sure the production value is amazing. I’ve never attacked his show. /1
