TV station group TEGNA, the former GANNETT television division which also owns News-Talk KFMB-A and Adult Hits-Rock KFMB-F (100.7 SAN DIEGO)/SAN DIEGO, has launched a digital content division that will create podcasts and other content from investigative reports across its 41 television markets.
MEDIAPOST reports that the operation, VAULT STUDIOS, will focus on true crime and mystery podcasts, with the first, "BOMBER," from ABC affiliate KVUE-TV/AUSTIN, looking at the serial bomber who spread fear through AUSTIN last year.
“Engaging with our audiences in new and innovative ways -- across multiple platforms -- is essential to our growth,” said TEGNA Chief Digital Officer ADAM OSTROW. “VAULT will draw on our decades of outstanding local journalism in areas such as true crime, cold cases and unsolved mysteries to create new content offerings for today’s digital consumer.”
