WSAN/Allentown Flips To All-Podcasts

New Format

iHEARTMEDIA Spanish Sports WSAN-A (ESPN DEPORTES 1470)/ALLENTOWN, PA has flipped to an all-Podcast format as "THE iHEARTPODCAST CHANNEL."  The weekday schedule will consist entirely of podcasts from the iHEARTRADIO/HOWSTUFFWORKS roster, including "STUFF YOU SHOULD KNOW," "STUFF TO BLOW YOUR MIND," "STUFF YOU MISSED IN HISTORY CLASS," "STUFF YOUR MOM NEVER TOLD YOU," "UNQUALIFIED WITH ANNA FARIS," "OMNIBUS," "RIDICULOUS HISTORY," "BROKEN HARTS," "PART TIME GENIUS," "HAPPY FACE," "UNOBSCURED," and "HELL AND GONE."

iHEARTMEDIA ALLENTOWN SVP/Programming CRAIG STEVENS said, "THE iHEARTPODCAST CHANNEL is a carefully curated experience that brings you the most creative stories from over 25,000 podcasts available on our free iHEARTRADIO app.  From true crime to history, comedy to food, we’ll cover dozens of topics every week.”

The station is not the first upper-AM-band station to try an all-podcast format; CBS RADIO gave all-podcasts a shot at what was then KYCY-A/SAN FRANCISCO (now KGMZ-A) as "KYOU RADIO" in 2005-09, with content submitted by listeners.
