Hot 101.9's Big J Makes 32 Needy Families Happy In Billings

NEW NORTHWEST BROADCASTERS Top 40 KRSQ (HOT 101.9)/BILLINGS morning man JASON "BIG J" HARRIS is wrapping up- literally- his second annual "BIG J Show's SANTA Clause FOr A Cause" gift drive TODAY (12/19), as he and his co-workers begin wrapping the roomful of gifts donated for needy families in the BILLINGS area.

"Last year we were able to help 4 or 5 families, and I felt great about it," says BIG J. "But I thought there had to be a more effective way to do it. My goal was to help as many families as possible. I modified the way I did things this year and we were able to reach our lofty goal, which feels amazing!"

BIG J set the goal for 2006 at 32 families, and says "everybody thought that 32 was a crazy number of full families for us to try to help since we ask for gifts for every member of the family, but I wanted to make an impact. 32 families is an entire city block here in Billings- I counted! I really hoped we would come close but I didn’t think we would actually reach our goal, between you and me." The show took 50 nomination letters proposing families in need, and that list was winnowed down to 32.
