John Tesh's Basketball Song Scores Again

Syndicated radio host JOHN TESH is seeing the fruits of his recording career resurface on TV. The song, "Roundball Rock," which used to be a staple on NBA telecasts in the '90s, is now being used on FOX SPORTS 1's TV coverage of college basketball games.

“It’s almost like when you hear your favorite old rock song today, it takes you back to that time,” TESH told FORBES, recalling the time when his song was lampooned on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE five years ago and friends wondered if it offended him. “I’m like, ‘What planet are you on?,’” he said. “It was the coolest thing that ever happened to me. They canonized it.”

Tesh is still performing ‘Roundball Rock’ in each of his 30 to 35 concerts he does each year. Besides that, TESH is busy with a daily syndicated radio show on nearly 300 stations; another PBS special that's shooting next month, and a memoir that is scheduled to publish later this year.
