Nielsen's Latest Quarterly Total Audience Report Shows Radio's Share Of Media Usage Down A Little, Reach At 92%

The latest quarterly NIELSEN Total Audience Report offers some insights on streaming audio and video, including how U.S. adults spending 10 hours and 30 minutes per day connected to media, flat from a year ago -- radio's share of that slipped slightly from 1:48 to 1:44 -- with adults 50-64 spending more time per day on media than any other age group.
Meanwhile, adults 18-34 spend over one-third of their daily media usage on smartphones. And as for the much-touted reach of radio, the percentage of U.S. adults listening to radio each week stands at 92%, while streaming audio on a smartphone showed a reach of 45%.
