Stax Is Back

STAX RECORDS is back, as CONCORD MUSIC GROUP reactivates the legendary MEMPHIS label on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. 

The label will return with deluxe reissues and a slate of new recordings from a roster that includes ANGIE STONE and ISAAC HAYES, with the first release a tribute to EARTH, WIND AND FIRE's MAURICE WHITE called "INTERPRETATIONS" featuring contributions from CHAKA KHAN, KIRK FRANKLIN, and MESHELL N'DEGEOCELLO covering EWF hits. CONCORD acquired the label as part of its 2004 purchase of FANTASY RECORDS.
