iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk KFBK-A-F/SACRAMENTO has named market TV news veteran SAM SHANE as the new co-anchor of "THE KFBK MORNING NEWS" with CRISTINA MENDONSA, starting APRIL 1st. SHANE, whose resumé includes work at NBC affiliate KCRA-TV and CBS affiliate KOVR-TV (CBS 13)/SACRAMENTO as well as MSNBC, ABC O&O KGO-TV/SAN FRANCISCO, and FOX affiliate KCPQ-TV (Q13 FOX)/SEATTLE, is replacing the recently-departed DAN MITCHINSON.
“We’re thrilled that SAM is joining NEWSRADIO KFBK,” said iHEARTMEDIA SACRAMENTO SVP of Programming CURTISS JOHNSON. “He and CRISTINA will break down the day’s news and explain exactly how that news affects SACRAMENTO and Northern Californians, providing insights beyond the headlines.”
“SAM’s deep roots in our community and his connections in the Capital City mean that he has a wealth of experience, perspective and views to draw upon that will give clarity and perspective to the day’s events,” said PD BILL WHITE. “It’s that wealth of experience, intellect and analysis that will help make ‘THE KFBK MORNING NEWS’ so much more than just a utility and download of daily data.”
"I'm delighted to join CRISTINA and the entire team at NEWSRADIO KFBK,” said SHANE. “Listeners can expect a show packed with engaging, relevant and meaningful stories from around the word -- with an emphasis on the local events that impact them right here in NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.”
