A report by the NEW YORK POST's ANDREW MARCHAND claims that ENTERCOM Sports WFAN-A-F/NEW YORK attempted to sign SIRIUSXM MAD DOG RADIO host ADAM SCHEIN to join its schedule and considered pairing SCHEIN with WFAN afternoon host MIKE FRANCESA with the idea that SCHEIN would succeed FRANCESA in afternoons when the latter ultimately leaves the station.
MARCHAND's report suggests that WFAN VP/Programming MARK CHERNOFF raised the idea of the FRANCESA-SCHEIN pairing and that WFAN was willing to allow SCHEIN to continue his "TIME TO SCHEIN" show on TV's CBS SPORTS NETWORK, but SCHEIN signed a new deal to stay with SIRIUSXM MAD DOG RADIO.
ENTERCOM responded to MARCHAND with a statement saying SCHEIN "is not a part of WFAN and there are no plans for him to join the station."
