Way back in NOVEMBER, when ALL ACCESS first noted the possibility that CLEAR CHANNEL's ATLANTA cluster would be making sweeping changes, the talk was that four FM frequencies would be affected. So far, three- 96.1 (now Active Rock "PROJECT 9-6-1"), 105.3 (now "105.3 EL PATRON"), and, this week, 94.9 (now "94.9 THE BULL")- have been involved. But ALL ACCESS was hearing that the class A signal on 96.7, WVWA (no relation to the parody WVWA/POUND RIDGE, NY), presently simulcasting WWVA-F (VIVA 105.7), would also see changes, and now the ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION's RODNEY HO is reporting on his blog that 96.7 will become home to a reconstituted version of the LITE FM AC format heard on 94.9 until its flip to Country.
HO says that Market Manager CHUCK DESKINS told him that the new 96.9 LITE FM will launch in "the next day or two" but without the old LITE air staff (including morning guys RANDY AND SPIFF) and will resume the all-CHRISTMAS music stunt aired on 94.9 before the flip. The WVWA signal, 2,000 watts at 551 feet, covers the south side of ATLANTA from a tower well south of the city and north of TYRONE.
