Jason Page Joins iHub Radio/Palm Springs As Afternoon Host, Dir. Of Multimedia Platforms

Veteran news and sports talker JASON PAGE is taking over 3-6p (PT) weekdays on iHUB RADIO, the PALM SPRINGS-based local online News-Talk station.  PAGE, the former NBC SPORTS RADIO, SIRIUSXM, ESPN Sports WEPN-F (ESPN NEW YORK 98.7FM)/NEW YORK, and iHEARTMEDIA Sports WPOP-A/HARTFORD host and MSNBC and NBC NEWS contributor, will bring "THE INTERSECTION WITH JASON PAGE" to the station on APRIL 1st, giving iHUB CEO JOHN MCMULLAN the opportunity to step away from hosting afternoons along with his management duties. 

PAGE, who recently filled in for MCMULLEN and anchored coverage of the BNP PARIBAS OPEN tennis tournament at INDIAN WELLS, will also serve as Dir./ Multimedia Platforms for iHUB. "THE INTERSECTION" started as a podcast produced with CONNOISSEUR MEDIA in CONNECTICUT

“In early FEBRUARY when I visited the COACHELLA VALLEY to test-drive a life-relevant current events program on iHUB RADIO that we identified as 'One Week Only' (it) turned into six,” said PAGE, who added, “I want to give passionate and strong opinions while helping to dial down the volatility of our national dialogue. PALM SPRINGS is an extremely diversified market and for a portion of the year, the population and global attraction makes it swell from what may feel like suburbia to large market status with millions of part-time residents and visitors. If ever there is a place to create content with universal appeal and a penchant not for right or left, but common sense, this is ground zero.”

“JASON brought his A-game for the entirety of his stay in FEBRUARY and MARCH," MCMULLEN said. "After two weeks of upsets on the tennis courts, I felt that the timing was right on our final broadcast from INDIAN WELLS to wrap up with a positive surprise. We offered JASON a full-time opportunity to not only take our 3-6p weekday slot, but to join our management team and put his vision in play for social media and other multimedia opportunities that are likely to involve expanding some of our local talent beyond the iHUB RADIO platform and local market.”

PAGE has been endorsed by, among others, FOX SPORTS RADIO and FS1 personality COLIN COWHERD, who called PAGE "not just a good communicator but a good listener. Both are essential in our business. He works at it and finds good angles. I have always found JASON to be a really easy listen.”

The addition of PAGE points to the possible development of programming for broadcast radio by the presently online-only operation, with MCMULLEN noting, “The rules are different here.  We have created a platform that doesn’t have to play by decades of preconceived ideas, corporate radio mandates, or even policies set by the federal government. iHUB RADIO is never going to take the stance that we want to be first to be second.
