Public Broadcasting Atlanta's Wonya Lucas Nominated To Scripps Board

PUBLIC BROADCASTING ATLANTA Pres./CEO WONYA LUCAS has been nominated to the Board of Directors of THE E.W. SCRIPPS CO. LUCAS' organization operates noncommercial News-Talk WABE-Classical WABE-HD2 and PBS affiliate WPBA-TV (ATL PBA)/ATLANTA; she is a former President/CEO at TV ONE and previously worked at TURNER, THE WEATHER CHANNEL, DISCOVERY, COCA-COLA, and CLOROX.
"WONYA is a veteran broadcast leader whose depth of experience in building successful media businesses will guide SCRIPPS as it executes its plan to grow its portfolio of local and national media brands," said SCRIPPS President/CEO ADAM SYMSON. "We look forward to the new perspectives she will bring to the company as it continues to evolve with the changing media landscape."
LUCAS will stand for election at the MAY 6th SCRIPPS shareholder annual meeting. Her election would expand the board from 10 to 11 directors.
