The COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CMA) has promoted Dir./Communications CATHARINE MCNELLY to Sr. Dir/Communications, and hired STEPHANIE SHANK as Mgr./Production & Talent Relations, effective immediately.
MCNELLY fills a role that has been vacant since VP/Communications & Talent Relations AMBER WILLIAMS departed the CMA in DECEMBER 2018. SHANK has worked as a contractor in the CMA’s communications department since AUGUST 2018. Prior to CMA, she worked for NASHVILLE-based agency FLYTEVU.
“CATHARINE has been a valuable leader to the communications team, and has brought a spirit of collaboration, passion, innovation and media expertise to the role since joining CMA in 2017,” shared CMA Chief Marketing Officer DAMON WHITESIDE. “She and her dedicated team will continue to develop new, more effective ways of driving CMA’s strategic communications initiatives, including the CMA Foundation, while further supporting our organization’s growth and expansion.”
MCNELLY, whose team also includes Mgr./Media Relations KRISTA DIAL, Coord./Communications LISA VALENTINE and SHANK, will report to WHITESIDE.
