The OKLAHOMA ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS (OAB) Board of Directors has elected sports broadcaster/educator AL ESCHBACH, and broadcaster/industry advocate VANCE HARRISON to the OAB HALL OF FAME. ESCHBACH and HARRISON will be honored during the OAB Annual Convention on FRIDAY, APRIL 5th at the SKIRVIN HOTEL in OKLAHOMA CITY.
ESCHBACH's broadcasting career began in 1976 as the Sports Director at KTOK/OKLAHOMA CITY. In 1985, he moved to crosstown WWLS (THE SPORTS ANIMAL)/OKLAHOMA CITY, where he's still heard in afternoon drive as part of the DOMINANT DUO SHOW with JIM TRABER and also as part of the TOTAL DOMINANCE HOUR at 5p with JIM TRABER, BERRY TRAMEL and DEAN BLEVINS.
“AL ESCHBACH is a true Sports radio pioneer, and has been the cornerstone of WWLS from the very beginning," CUMULUS/OKLAHOMA CITY VP/Market Manager JAY DAVIS said. "We are proud and honored to work alongside this Hall of Famer.”
HARRISON started in the biz at WXRT/CHICAGO in 1978. He moved to OKLAHOMA in 1988, becoming GM at KOMA-A/F and KRXO. He would later have oversight of KMGL, KBEZ and KHTT, then manage the UNIV. OF OKLAHOMA RADIO NETWORK and as partner in SOONER SPORTS PROPERTIES. He is now the current President of the OAB.
