THE WASHINGTON POST's "CAPE UP" podcast with columnist JONATHAN CAPEHART has launched a two-month long special series of episodes highlighting the stories of civil rights leaders.
The “Voices of the Movement” series began TODAY (4/4) with an episode on the day Rev. Dr. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. died, including interviews with ANDREW YOUNG and others who were close to KING. CAPEHART has been hosting the weekly "CAPE UP" since AUGUST 2016. Subsequent episodes will talk to those who were children during the Civil Rights Movement, the story behind the "Letter From a BIRMINGHAM Jail," the voices of people who experienced "Bloody SUNDAY" at SELMA on MARCH 7th, 1965, women who participated in the movement, and the effect of the movement on changing minds and efforts at reconciliation.
