60 Peabody Awards Nominees Announced

60 nominees for the 2019 PEABODY AWARDS have been announced by the GRADY COLLEGE OF JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION at the UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA. The nominees were selected by unanimous vote of 19 jurors from over 1,200 entries in TV, radio, podcasts, and the web, with 30 winners to be selected beginning next week and honored at a MAY 18th ceremony hosted by THE NEW YORKER and HBO's RONAN FARROW.

“It is our great honor to recognize the most powerful and compelling, but also most brilliant and creative programming of 2018,” said PEABODY Exec. Dir. JEFFREY P. JONES. “Across genres and platforms, these are stories that help us make sense of our world, and locate our humanity in the joys and tragedies and struggles of people worldwide.”
