WLHK/Indianapolis Parts Ways With Morning Host Dave O’Brien

EMMIS Country WLHK (97.1 HANK FM)/INDIANAPOLIS has parted ways with longtime morning host DAVE O’BRIEN. He has been with the station since its launch in 2005.

The INDIANAPOLIS STAR published a statement from EMMIS on FRIDAY, APRIL 12th which read, “Yesterday we notified DAVE O’BRIEN that his contract was not being renewed. This was a difficult decision; DAVE has been a valued member of the EMMIS family for some time." 

O’BRIEN told the STAR, ”Most of all I am proud of the connection I have had with the greatest listeners on the planet. It was a joy to spend every morning entertaining and interacting with so many people that I consider friends."

According to the newspaper, “O’BRIEN worked for three EMMIS stations: WNOU (2001-03); WENS (2004) and WLHK. His INDIANAPOLIS radio career began at WRZX-FM (103.3) in 1996."
