NRG MEDIA News-Talk KLIN-A/LINCOLN, NE afternoon DRIVE TIME LINCOLN host COBY MACH died FRIDAY (4/12) at 53.  MACH, also the President of the LINCOLN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION, was found dead in a parked car in LINCOLN after announcing on FACEBOOK that FRIDAY's show would be his last due to dealing with tinnitus and his wife's breast cancer; police have termed his passing an apparent suicide.

The station posted a message on its website saying, "COBY was the most-listened-to talk show host in LINCOLN. As President of the LINCOLN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION, there wasn’t anyone he didn’t know, and that’s why he was known as 'LINCOLN’s Man on the Inside.'  We all miss him deeply."

Sen, BEN SASSE (R-NE) issued a statement saying, "COBY MACH cared deeply for his neighbors, his community, and our state. He served all of us though his work at KLIN and as President of the LINCOLN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS ASSOCIATION. His death is simply heartbreaking. MELISSA and I lift up his wife, LORIE, and children in prayer.”

Rep, JEFF FORTENBERRY (R-NE) said, "I am grieved by the death of my friend COBY MACH. He was a strong leader, and a passionate advocate for our community -- with a big heart. I will miss him. May God give him rest."

A funeral will be held WEDNESDAY (4/17) at MESSIAH LUTHERAN CHURCH in LINCOLN, with visitation TODAY at ROPER AND SONS SOUTH LINCOLN Chapel and burial in NARKA, KS.  Donations in MACH's honor may be made to LINCOLN CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER, 111 Piazza Terrace, LINCOLN, NE 68510, or PEOPLE’S CITY MISSION, 110 Q Street, LINCOLN, NE 68508.
