CBS affiliate WAFB-TV/BATON ROUGE is reporting that GUARANTY BROADCASTING News-Talk WBRP (TALK 107.3)/BATON ROUGE has fired three local hosts. Exiting on FRIDAY (4/12) were morning "AM BATON ROUGE" hosts BILL PROFITA and KEVIN GALLAGHER and 10a-1p (CT) host CLARENCE BUGGS. GM GORDY RUSH told the TV station that the terminations were a "business decision."
Replacing the departed local shows is an abbreviated two-hour local morning show 6-8a (CT) with BRIAN HALDANE and FOX NEWS RADIO's BRIAN KILMEADE (8-11a) and TODD STARNES (11a-1p). In addition, the station has added FOX NEWS RADIO's TOM SHILLUE for 4-6p, bumping the syndicated MARKLEY AND VAN KAMP to 6-8p and LARS LARSON from 6-9p to 8-11p. WESTWOOD ONE's JIM BOHANNON has been dropped in favor of an hour of DAVE RAMSEY (who also airs 1-4p).
