Happy Birthday To ESPN

ESPN RADIO, the nation’s largest all-sports network, debuted on JANUARY 1, 1992 with weekday drive-time commentaries, then launched its weekend programming SATURDAY, JANUARY 4. In its initial weekend, ESPN RADIO’s GAMENIGHT was the first to report that free-agent DANNY TARTABULL would sign with the NEW YORK YANKEES. In fact, GAMENIGHT broke the news to YANKEES manager BUCK SHOWALTER during an on-air-interview.

ESPN RADIO celebrates its 15th anniversary JANUARY 1-4 2007 providing more than 9,000 hours of talk and event content to nearly 750 non-duplicative stations reaching 11 million listeners each week.
