Longtime CHICAGO sports broadcaster CHET COPPOCK has passed away at 70, ABC O&O WLS-TV (ABC 7)/CHICAGO is reporting. COPPOCK died WEDNESDAY (4/17) of injuries sustained in a car accident in SAVANNAH, GA on APRIL 11th.
COPPOCK hosted "COPPOCK ON SPORTS" at WMAQ-A, WLUP-A, and SPORTING NEWS RADIO over the years and also produced MILWAUKEE BUCKS radio broadcasts, hosted CHICAGO BULLS and NOTRE DAME football and basketball pre-game and post-game shows, and briefly hosted podcasts on two different occasions. He also did television work at WISH-TV/INDIANAPOLIS. WMAQ-TV, WFLD-TV, and WSNS-TV/CHICAGO, SPORTSCHANNEL, and FOX SPORTS NET CHICAGO, and worked at WWE (then WWF) wrestling events.
