KFRX/Lincoln, NE Morning Host Matt McKay Arrested On Strangulation Charge

ALPHA MEDIA Top 40 KFRX/LINCOLN, NE morning host MATT MCKAY has been arrested after an alleged domestic assault, reports the LINCOLN JOURNAL STAR.

MCKAY (real name MATTHEW RYDBERG) was charged MONDAY with strangulation. The police report stated that MCKAY's wife accused him of being intoxicated and pushing on her neck and face, biting her nose, and shoving her while she was sleeping in their children's room, witnessed by two children. The alleged incident occurred SATURDAY (4/20). Judge JOSEPH DALTON set bond at $25,000.

KFRX GM JULIE GADE told the paper that MCKAY is on leave from the station, and the station posted a statement to that effect on the KFRXFM.COM website, saying, "MATT RYDBERG (MATT MCKAY) is currently on leave. In light of recent news, ALPHA’s main concern is for MATT and his family. We ask the public and media to respect their privacy. ALPHA MEDIA does not comment on internal personnel issues and has no further comment at this time."
