WAPL Wins Wisconsin Area Music Industry Award

WOODWARD RADIO GROUP Classic Rock WAPL/APPLETON, WI won the Radio Station of the Year 2019 Award at the 39th annual WISCONSIN AREA MUSIC INDUSTRIES Awards on APRIL 14th. The station was nominated in the People’s Choice Radio Station category for NORTHEAST WISCONSIN.  

The WISCONSIN AREA MUSIC INDUSTRY (WAMI) is a volunteer organization established in 1980 which  recognizes the contributions and accomplishments of individuals in the WISCONSIN music  
industry and provides music business educational opportunities to its members and the  public.     

This is WAPL's fourth Radio Station of the Year - NORTHEAST division Award in the past six years. In 2016, WAPL Morning Show and Home Brewed host, LEN NELSON was honored with  the President’s Award for his continuing service to the WISCONSIN music industry and its musicians. 

"While the awards for individual musicians and bands are voted on by the WAMI  organization, People’s  Choice Awards are nominated and voted on by musicians  themselves and music fans so  it’s especially gratifying that they value us an integral part of a  thriving Wisconsin music scene,” said NELSON.     

“Throughout its 40+ year history, WAPL has strived to support and be a part of WISCONSIN’s  music industry,” said WAPL Brand Manager ELWOOD BJORN. “It’s an honor to be recognized  by the WAMI and music fans who share with us a love for the great music and creativity  generated in our own communities.”
