KALIL AND CO. served as exclusive broker for the deal.
In CANADA, the CRTC has approved the sale by RNC MEDIA INC. of French Talk CHOI (RADIO X)/QUEBEC CITY and French Sports CKLX (91.9 SPORTS)/MONTREAL to LECLERC COMMUNICATION INC. for $19 million and issued an amendment to allow LECLERC to flip CKLX to French Variety (Alternative-Triple A-Hot AC). However, LECLERC has decided not to proceed with the purchase after the CRTC also denied LECLERC's application for a waiver to allow it to own more than two French-language FM stations in the QUEBEC CITY market, meaning that it would have to divest one of its stations there; LECLERC owns French Modern AC CJEC (WKND 91.9)/QUEBEC CITY and French Alternative CFEL (BLVD 102.1)/LÉVIS in the market.
