Noncommercial Variety-Alternative KYMC/ST. LOUIS will sign off on NEW YEAR'S DAY because the owner, the WEST COUNTY branch of the YMCA OF GREATER ST. LOUIS, says it cannot afford necessary studio, antenna, and tower upgrades, reports the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. The YMCA's Exec. Dir. DENISE GLASS told the paper that it may lease or sell the station to another operator.
