GOOD KARMA BRANDS Sports WAUK-A (ESPN MILWAUKEE) and WKTI (94.5 ESPN)/MILWAUKEE will split programming beginning JUNE 4th, with local shows, including some new entries, sticking on the FM side and ESPN RADIO going fulltime (with the exception of afternoons) on the AM. The stations have mostly simulcasted since WKTI flipped to Sports from Country on NOVEMBER 1st.
On WKTI (94.5 ESPN), the lineup will include ESPN RADIO's GOLIC & WINGO (MIKE GOLIC, MIKE GOLIC JR., and TREY WINGO) 5-7a (CT); "GABE & CHEWY" -- GABE NEITZEK and former GREEN BAY PACKERS tight end MARK CHMURA -- 7-9a; JASON WILDE and MARK TAUSCHER 9a-noon (continuing to simulcast on sister Sports WTLX (ESPN 100.5)/MADISON); "POWER LUNCH WITH GREG MATZEK" noon-1p; former MARQUETTE and NBA guard TONY SMITH and BRYAN DEE 1-3p; STEVE "HOMER" TRUE and GABE NEITZEL 3-6p; and DOUG RUSSELL 6-8p.
On WAUK, the lineup will consist of ESPN RADIO's GOLIC & WINGO, "THE DAN LE BATARD SHOW WITH STUGOTZ," STEPHEN A. SMITH, WILL CAIN, SARAH SPAIN and JASON FITZ, FREDDIE COLEMAN and IAN FITZSIMMONS, "SPORTSCENTER ALL NIGHT," and "FIRST & LAST," plus "ESPN MILWAUKEE PODCENTER" hosted by DOUG RUSSELL 3-6p weekdays. The station will also air "limited commercial interruptions" in ESPN RADIO programming, filling avails with local and sponsored content rather than unbroken series of commercials.
VP/Market Manager STEVE WEXLER said, “This investment in local programming gives fans more ways to engage in sports and provides our advertising partners additional opportunities to connect with their customers and build their brands.”
PD BRAD LANE added, “I’m particularly excited to bring CHEWY and TONY onto our weekly lineup. Their unique perspectives and stories from their playing days, combined with knowledge of and love for MILWAUKEE, make them such great additions to this already compelling lineup in the BREW CITY.”At the same time, the increase in local Sports content on WKTI will also lead to local non-Sports talk on sister WTMJ-A-W277CV when no BREWERS, BUCKS, or PACKERS games preempt evening programming. “We will be adding local talk content to WTMJ in the evening that will feature new voices and perspectives. We intend to more fully live up to our brand as ‘WISCONSIN’s Radio Station’ and we’re on the lookout for additional local, compelling and entertaining personalities to add to WTMJ,” said WEXLER.
