Independent minor league baseball SOMERSET PATRIOTS radio voice MARC SCHWARTZ achieved viral status WEDNESDAY night (5/15) when he managed not only to catch a foul ball in the booth but also called the catch on the radio without breaking the narrative.
The catch, caught on video by GANNETT MYCENTRALJERSEY.COM sportswriter MIKE ASHMORE, was described live on the air with SCHWARTZ, Director of Broadcasting/Media Relations for the ATLANTIC LEAGUE team since the 2015 season, exclaiming, "I make the catch on the foul ball. I am very proud of myself! I hope somebody got video of that – as I caught it on the fly and it’s a 1-2 count.... Boy, am I impressive. What a play by me!" The video and audio have been featured or tweeted by ESPN, DEADSPIN, MLB.COM, SPORTS ILLUSTRATED, BLEACHER REPORT, BARSTOOL SPORTS, and AWFUL ANNOUNCING, among others.
