Country Music Shines During 'American Idol' Finale

ABC-TV's "American Idol" crowned 18-year-old Livingston, LA native LAINE HARDY the Season 17 winner during a star-studded live finale last night (5/19). Several Country artists, including "American Idol" judge LUKE BRYAN and Season 4 winner CARRIE UNDERWOOD, took part in the finale with live performances.
CAPITOL NASHVILLE's JON PARDI hit the stage with eventual winner HARDY to perform a medley of "Night Shift" and "Dirt On My Boots" for one of HARDY's last performances as a contestant. Second runner-up MADISON VANDENBURG performed "Speechless" alongside WARNER BROS./WAR's DAN + SHAY, who also treated the crowd to a performance of their current single, "All To Myself." CAPITOL NASHVILLE's BRYAN put his judging duties on hold to perform his current single, "Knockin' Boots," followed by "Every Breath You Take" with contestant LACI KAYE BOOTH. KANE BROWN also got in on some finale fun, performing his single, "Good As You," and "Lost In The Middle Of Nowhere" with contestant ALYSSA RAGHU. CAPITOL NASHVILLE's UNDERWOOD made her return to the "IDOL" stage with an upbeat performance for her current single, "Southbound."
