KQRS/Twin Cities' Michele Tafoya Wins Her Third Sports Emmy

CUMULUS Classic Rock KQRS/MINNEAPOLIS morning "TOM BARNARD SHOW" co-host MICHELE TAFOYA has won her third Sports EMMY AWARD for her work as sideline reporter on NBC SPORTS' "SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL." TAFOYA, who has been nominated for the Outstanding Sports Personality -- Sports Reporter award seven times and previously won in 2012 and 2014, won over ESPN's HOLLY ROWE and LISA SALTERS and FOX and MLB NETWORK's KEN ROSENTHAL and TOM VERDUCCI for the honor.
CUMULUS MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL OM and Corporate VP/Classic Rock SCOTT JAMESON said, “All of us at CUMULUS/MINNEAPOLIS are very proud of MICHELE winning this prestigious EMMY award. We’re quite fortunate having her on our legendary morning show hosted by NATIONAL HALL OF FAME inductee TOM BARNARD and the rest of the morning team."
While TAFOYA is the only 2019 Sports EMMY winner currently on the radio, some of the other winners have radio on their resumes, including Play-by-Play winner MIKE "DOC" EMRICK, Studio Host winner ERNIE JOHNSON, Sports Event Analyst BILL RAFTERY, Studio Analyst KIRK HERBSTREIT, and Outstanding On-Air Talent in Spanish MIGUEL GURWITZ.
