ENTERCOM and CADENCE13 are launching a six-episode podcast looking at the lives of three combat veterans on the battlefield and at home. "TO WAR AND BACK," hosted by "CONNECTING VETS" podcast host PHIL BRIGGS, will exclusively launch all six episodes on RADIO.COM on JUNE 10th with the episodes also posting weekly on other platforms, and will follow the stories of MARINE vets Sgt. KIRSTIE ENNIS (Ret.) and Maj. SCOTT HUESING (Ret.) and ARMY vet Sgt. BOONE CUTLER.
“From the moment I first heard about KIRSTIE, SCOTT and BOONE, I knew I wanted to tell their story. As a vet myself, I didn’t want to commercialize their combat, or glorify their scars, but I wanted the world to hear that you can find inspiration, even in desperation,” said BRIGGS. “Their stories show what being a combat vet can be like, and it's so much more than what we see in movies and on TV."
“We’re proud to collaborate with our talented partners at CADENCE13 on this original series,” said ENTERCOM Chief Digital Officer J.D. CROWLEY. “‘To War and Back’ is a perfect example of the power of audio storytelling to make a difference in the lives of listeners. Original series like this are also a key part of the growth path of RADIO.COM.”
“‘TO WAR AND BACK’ is an intimate portrait of the human spirit and a tribute to the bravery and perseverance of BOONE CUTLER, KIRSTIE ENNIS, SCOTT HUESING and veterans everywhere,” said CADENCE13 CEO SPENCER BROWN. “We are thrilled to partner with ENTERCOM on the first of what we expect to be a number of RADIO.COM originals.”
