KUAF/Fayetteville, AR To Promote Leigh Wood To GM As Rick Stockdell Steps Down After 35 Years

UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS News-Talk-Classical KUAF/FAYETTEVILLE, AR is upping Membership Director LEIGH WOOD to GM, effective AUGUST 1st. WOOD, who has been with KUAF for eight years after working at UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS News-Talk KUT/AUSTIN and HELLER INTERNATIONAL, will replace RICK STOCKDELL, who is stepping down after 35 years to focus on teaching journalism.

“The radio station is in a good place with solid staff and budget and all new transmission equipment, so it seems like a good time for a transition,” said STOCKDELL. “After 35 years of work in public radio, I’m ready to give teaching and research my entire focus.”

“I am very excited to continue my work at KUAF,” said WOOD. “The staff, our listeners and our supporters have all made KUAF one of the best public radio stations of our size in the country. I’m honored to be able to build on such a strong foundation.”
