iHEARTMEDIA AC KESZ (KEZ 99.9)/PHOENIX air personality/"man on the street" MARTY MANNING is calling it a career after 50 years in radio. MANNING started in radio in 1969 at KCAC-A/PHOENIX, but had stops at stations in TEXAS, CALIFORNIA and OHIO before returning to KEZ in 1985 to become Creative Dir. and eventually “Man on the Street.”
“MARTY’s contributions over the years will benefit 99.9 KEZ and the community for many years to come. MARTY’s talent, devotion and community focus have been exemplary,” KESZ PD PAUL KELLEY said. “I want to thank MARTY for all he’s done for the development and progress of 99.9 KEZ over the years.”
“MARTY and I started at the radio station within eight months of each other and have been friends and colleagues ever since,” morning host BETH MCDONALD said. “It’s hard to fathom coming in and not having him here, but his retirement is well deserved! He’s one of the smartest and kindest people I know. I consider MARTY to be the conscience of the radio station. He makes us want to be better. And I feel that I am just for having known him. I’ll miss him."
“MARTY MANNING is a pro who has built his career here at KEZ and is among the best of the best," iHEARTMEDIA/PHOENIX Pres. LINDA LITTLE said. "Always giving 100% of himself to the KEZ brand, audience and especially all the people he worked with inside and outside of the building. I also want to thank Marty for his commitment to giving back to our community over the years. I am sure we will see him continue those good works well into his retirement years.”
