Jimenez To Univision For Radio/TV Syndication Deal

SBS Tropical WSKQ (MEGA 97.9)/NEW YORK top-ranked morning man LUIS JIMÉNEZ, the lead player on the "El Vacilón de la Mañana" is leaving, as first reported on ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 11/21), and has joined UNIVISION RADIO, effective with the end of his contract on DECEMBER 31st. JIMÉNEZ's new multi-year deal with UNIVISION was termed "too good to pass up" and calls for opportunities to do both radio and TV locally and nationally.

ALL ACCESS has learned that JIMÉNEZ will begin syndication sometime in JANUARY to UNIVISION stations in LOS ANGELES, CHICAGO, DALLAS, and several other markets. Contractually, he will have to wait until JANUARY, 2008 before he can appear on radio in NEW YORK CITY, but word is that JIMÉNEZ, who is represented by ROBERT EATMAN, will have a huge presence in THE BIG APPLE during his year of non-complete from radio. Look for an official UNIVISION press release, as early as tomorrow (12/29).

What's still unclear is if JIMÉNEZ's sidekick MOONSHADOW will follow him over to UNIVISION. And while not confirmed, there is strong speculation that JIMÉNEZ other cast members, have chosen to stay with SBS.
