If you ever heard Rocker WMMS/CLEVELAND from the 1970s through the 90s, you heard the unmistakable pipes of LEN "BOOM" GOLDBERG. That voice is silenced as he has passed away from undisclosed causes. He was in his 70s.
GOLDBERG's voice graced the op of the hour IDs, sweepers, and spots on WMMS for three decades, and was the station's longest running personality. And, it was his voice that was heard on the original "From the Top of the Empire State Building...." legal ID's on Z-100/NEW YORK, when SCOTT SHANNON signed it on. No word yet on services.
