BOSTON UNIVERSITY News-Talk WBUR/BOSTON's "RADIO BOSTON" afternoon show will have a new host later this month with the naming of WBUR commentator and former BOSTON COLLEGE professor TIZIANA DEARING to the post. DEARING replaces MEGHNA CHAKRABARTI, who exited to co-host WBUR and NPR's "ON POINT."
“After an extensive host search, we are thrilled to officially bring TIZIANA into the fold at RADIO BOSTON,” said Exec. Producer HITESH HATHI. “For many years, she’s been a trusted WBUR commentator, addressing issues that ranged from the BOSTON MARATHON bombing to sexual abuse in the Catholic Church to income inequality in MASSACHUSETTS. We’re eager to collaborate with her on an exciting new chapter at RADIO BOSTON.”
“TIZIANA’s intellect, work experience, ability to connect with people and deep knowledge of the city proved to be a winning combination,” said Managing Dir./News & Programming SAM FLEMING. “At a time when engagement matters more than ever in media, I’m particularly pleased that she’s been embedded in the local community for decades. We look forward to this new era at RADIO BOSTON as WBUR seeks to fulfill our mission, serving the community with independent news and information.”
