TEGNA Buys WBNS-A-F/Columbus, OH As Part Of Deal To Buy Dispatch Broadcast Group TV Stations

TEGNA is acquiring RADIOHIO Sports WBNS-F (97.1 THE FAN) and Sports WBNS-A (1460 ESPN)/COLUMBUS, OH as part of a $535 million deal to buy DISPATCH BROADCAST GROUP's television stations, CBS affiliate WBNS-TV/COLUMBUS and NBC affiliate WTHR-TV/INDIANAPOLIS. The deal represents the former GANNETT broadcasting division's second radio acquisition as part of a TV deal, following the purchase of News-Talk KFMB-A and Rock KFMB-F/SAN DIEGO attached to the transaction that brought TEGNA CBS affiliate KFMB-TV and CW affiilate KFMB-DT2/SAN DIEGO.
