The NEW ORLEANS ADVOCATE is reporting that TULANE UNIVERSITY baseball, men's basketball, and football radio voice TODD GRAFFAGNINI will be taking over play-by-play radio duties for the NBA's NEW ORLEANS PELICANS next season.
GRAFFAGNINI, TULANE's Dir./Broadcasting who also served as the PELICANS' studio host in 2002-05 (when the team was still known as the HORNETS), will be replacing SEAN KELLEY, who the paper says is "moving to a national outlet." KELLEY, the PELS' voice since 2005, has been calling NBA games nationally for ESPN RADIO. At TULANE, rights holder LEARFIELD IMG COLLEGE will be searching for a replacement for GRAFFAGNINI before football season begins on AUGUST 29th.
The PELICANS are heard on a network headed by iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WRNO/NEW ORLEANS. TULANE's sports broadcasts are heard on iHEARTMEDIA Sports WODT-A (SPORTS 1280).
