Houston Radio Newsman Chuck Scott Dies At 76

Longtime HOUSTON radio newsman CHUCK SCOTT died FRIDAY (6/28), reports the HOUSTON CHRONICLE's DAVID BARRON. He was 76 and had been battling lung cancer.
SCOTT retired as an announcer/producer/board operator from UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON/HOUSTON PUBLIC MEDIA News-Talk KUHF (NEWS 88.7)/HOUSTON earlier this year, capping a career in the market that started in 1962 and included stints at KIKK-A, KNUZ-A, KHTV (TV), KQUE, KULF-A, KENR-A, and KRBE, with a stretch at WLS-A/CHICAGO and the ABC CONTEMPORARY NETWORK in between.
In addition, SCOTT worked on "THE AUTOMOTIVE REPORTER," a weekend show airing on GOW MEDIA Sports KFNC (ESPN 97.5)/HOUSTON and Country KFTX/CORPUS CHRISTI. He was inducted into the TEXAS RADIO HALL OF FAME in 2009.
