iHEARTMEDIA Country WCKY-F (NEW COUNTRY 103.7 'CKY)/TOLEDO has returned to the BUCKEYE COUNTRY brand it used until 2007 and has introduced more Classic Country cuts into its playlist. The revamped BUCKEYE COUNTRY 103.7 'CKY will continue to air PREMIERE NETWORKS' BOBBY BONES in mornings, with BOB DELMONT and BOB PICKETT splitting middays, MEAGHAN MICK remaining in afternoons, and TOM TRAVIS new to nights. The syndicated "CMT AFTER MIDNITE" hosted by CODY ALLEN airs in overnights.
Market President SHOSH ABROMOVICH said, “We’re so excited to once again be playing some of Country music’s greatest songs from the '80s and '90s through today. You may even hear some older Classic Country from time to time. These are the songs that take you through a range of emotions; from love to heartbreak to having a beer with your friends on the weekend. You’ll be able to sing along and dance along to every song we play!”
SVP Programming SCOTT SANDS added, “BUCKEYE COUNTRY will feature the real icons of Country music like GEORGE STRAIT, ALAN JACKSON, FAITH HILL and TIM MCGRAW, GARTH BROOKS, TRAVIS TRITT, SHANIA TWAIN, ALABAMA, KENNY CHESNEY, BROOKS & DUNN, CLINT BLACK, KENNY ROGERS, REBA MCENTIRE, RANDY TRAVIS and so many more. These are the real Country superstars, and many of them haven’t been heard on the radio in NORTHWEST OHIO in a long time. That changes now!”
“This is actually a return to the station’s roots,” AE TODD WRIGHT, who has been with the station for 30 years, said. “The call letters WCKY were actually selected from the word ‘buCKeYe,’ and we were known as ‘BUCKEYE COUNTRY’ until 2007.”
