KDSP/Denver Drops Sports For News-Talk As KDFD, 'Freedom 93.7'

New Format

iHEARTRADIO Sports KDSP-A (ORANGE AND BLUE 760)/DENVER has dropped its DENVER BRONCOS-centric programming and is flipping to News-Talk with the addition of an FM translator as "FREEDOM 93.7, REAL NEWS, REAL TALK," with new calls KDFD-A.

The flip, presaged by a stunt airing TODAY that is airing songs hinting at the new format including DEVO's "Freedom of Choice," CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL's "Fortunate Son," and TRACE ADKINS' "Still a Soldier," PAUL MCCARTNEY's "Freedom," and FAITH HILL's "American Heart," interspersed with teases of "FREEDOM, coming soon," follows the closing of iHEARTMEDIA's CITICASTERS LICENSES, INC. purchasing K229BS/LAKEWOOD, CO from HUNT BROADCASTING LLC for $1.8 million. The translator had been simulcasting HUNT's Classic Hits KCKK-A (THE ROCK).
