Member-supported Triple A KCSN/NORTHRIDGE, CA-KSBR/MISSION VIEJO, CA (88.5 FM) has promoted MD and on-air host MARC “MOOKIE” KACZOR to PD; he takes the reins after the exits of both SKY DANIELS (NET NEWS, 3/11) and JEFF PENFIELD (NET NEWS, 6/19). KACZOR joined 88.5 FM three years ago as a DJ and MD.
“MOOKIE has great relationships with the labels, promoters, venues and our on-air staff. He is very well liked in the industry,” said newly named KCSN GM PATRICK OSBURN. “His grasp of the Triple A and Alternative formats make him a natural choice to lead 88.5 into the future, growing our audience and ratings.”
“All I have ever wanted to do was to program a relevant Rock station, and to do it in my hometown in SO-CAL makes it even sweeter,” KACZOR said. “We will leave no creative stone unturned during the process of creating great radio.”
88.5 FM is a combined effort of CALIFORNIA STATE UNIV., NORTHRIDGE, CA (CSUN) and SADDLEBACK COLLEGE, MISSION VIEJO, CA (KSBR), which began simulcasting as 88.5 FM in OCTOBER 2017 and linking together LOS ANGELES and ORANGE COUNTIES.
