RUSH LIMBAUGH took advantage of the flap over NIKE's cancellation of its "BETSY ROSS" shoes by releasing a t-shirt to raise funds for the STEPHEN SILLER TUNNEL TO TOWERS FOUNDATION.
The PREMIERE NETWORKS host's "Stand Up For BETSY ROSS!" shirt is his answer to the cancellation of the shoes after NIKE advisor and former SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS quarterback COLIN KAEPERNICK pointed out to the company that the 13-star flag has lately been adopted by far-right racist groups as a symbol and also is associated with a period of U.S. history during which slavery existed. The 13-stars-in-a-circle flag was used by the KU KLUX KLAN in recruitment fliers in 2018, and the flag was waved with a pro-TRUMP banner at a high school football game in MICHIGAN in 2016 in an incident perceived by many as attempted racial intimidation. On the other hand, the star circle design has been part of the PHILADELPHIA 76ERS logo for most of the team's existence and is the primary feature of the team's alternate "Earned Edition" and "City Edition" uniforms, manufactured by NIKE.
LIMBAUGH said, “I am tired of people like COLIN KAEPERNICK and others taking all of the incredible rewards of this country happily, while continuing to bash it left and right. Our history is not perfect. However, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is truly the land of the free for all. Our country is a miracle. For Americans, nothing is impossible.”
