The 7th annual KBA WKU RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE at WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY, one of the NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM's learning conferences, begins TODAY (7/22).
The ten days of sessions begin TODAY with sales trainer CHRIS LYTLE and continue with sales and management sessions led by the NAB's STEVE NEWBERRY, SEVEN MOUNTAINS MEDIA's KRISTIN CANTRELL, FOREVER COMMUNICATIONS/BOWLING GREEN, KY's CHRISTINE HILLARD, FORCHT BROADCASTING/SOMERSET, KY's MIKE TARTER, HERITAGE MEDIA/LEITCHFIELD, KY's MARK BUCKLES, COMMONWEALTH COMMUNICATIONS/BOWLING GREEN's DALE THORNHILL, and SWAGGER INSTITUTE and COMMONWEALTH COMMUNICATIONS' DERRON STEENBERGEN. The schedule also includes a trip to CUMULUS/NASHVILLE and live broadcasts with ALPHA MEDIA Top 40 WDJX/LOUISVILLE's BEN DAVIS and KELLY K as well as a closing session with THE CROMWELL GROUP's BUD WALTERS.
KENTUCKY BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION Pres. CHRIS WINKLE said, “We can’t stand on the sidelines wondering where the next generation of broadcasters will come from. We have to be proactive and intentional in our efforts to assist students on their journey into broadcasting, culminating with job placement.”
